Tottenham Hotspur face a defining weekend in their fight for survival, with the Premier League table capable of shifting dramatically depending on results elsewhere.

Roberto De Zerbi has a big task on his hands as Tottenham Hotspur look to avoid relegation this season following their abysmal campaign thus far.

The former Brighton manager will be hoping his side gets off to a flying start in his first game when they travel to the Stadium of Light to take on Sunderland.

Spurs already managed a draw against the Black Cats earlier this season, but things are very different from when the two sides last met.

At the moment, Tottenham are without a win so far this calendar year and are the most out-of-form side in the relegation scrap, having picked up no wins in their last twenty outings.

But next weekend’s clash is absolutely crucial for Spurs, with the result of that game set to set the tone for the rest of the season.

A victory against the newly promoted side would no doubt boost the confidence of De Zerbi’s men, who already fell short last time out against Nottingham Forest in their relegation six-pointer.
