Newcastle United goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos’ future beyond this season remains uncertain.

The Greece international arrived at St James’ Park from Nottingham Forest in July 2024 and made one appearance in his debut season.

Last August, Newcastle United sanctioned a loan move to Sevilla, without any purchase option or obligation.

The decision to move to Spain has clearly paid off. The stopper initially sat on the bench before making his debut in September and has been the La Liga side’s No.1 since then.

His league stats for Sevilla are as follows:

  • Appearances: 26
  • Clean sheets: 4
  • Goals conceded: 44
  • Goals conceded per game: 1.9
  • Penalties saved: 1/10
  • Saves per game: 2.9

On March 13th, the goalkeeper refused to comment on his future after this season.

Three days later, Sevilla sporting director Antonio Cordón insisted he wants to extend his stay. The official has also expressed his desire to retain him after this season.

As per Antonio Cordó’sn recent comments, Sevilla only have to find an agreement with Eddie Howe’s side to extend Odysseas Vlachodimos’ stay.
