Arsenal are reportedly ‘well-positioned’ to sign Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez, as per Football London.

The Gunners decided to reinforce the frontline by purchasing Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP last summer. He moved to the Emirates Stadium, having enjoyed two stellar campaigns at Jose Alvalade Stadium.

However, the Swedish international has displayed inconsistent performances in his debut season in the Premier League, scoring 16 goals and registering two assists in 42 appearances across all competitions. Still, Arsenal have enjoyed a stellar campaign, mounting a treble charge.

Apart from Gyokeres, Arsenal have Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus as striker options, but both have struggled with fitness problems over the last 12 months.

With Jesus’ existing deal set to expire at the end of next season, speculation surrounding his future has been emerging ahead of the summer transfer window.

Now, Football London report that Arsenal are considering signing a new striker and have identified Alvarez as a serious option.
