Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League form has shown little sign of promise as interim boss Igor Tudor continues to struggle at N17. The Lilywhites are languishing in the bottom half of the table, and fears of relegation have intensified within the fanbase after the 3-0 loss to Nottingham Forest last weekend.

Spurs let go of the opportunity to strengthen their squad in the winter transfer window. By signing just Conor Gallagher and Souza, they overlooked the glaring problems in the squad. The most pressing concern within the squad remains the lack of a quality ball-carrier in midfield. For some time now, the North Londoners have struggled to progress the ball from deeper areas and control the tempo of games.

The injury crisis at White Hart Lane has not helped Tudor’s cause either, as the Croat has found it difficult to name a consistent first XI that includes a natural and effective ball-carrier. Thus, it comes as little surprise that Tottenham are already looking to strengthen their midfield in the summer.
