TRANMERE Rovers have confirmed the signing of former midfielder Ryan Watson on a short-term deal.

Crewe-born Watson, 32, made 22 appearances and scored two goals for Rovers in the 2021-22 season.

He most recently played for Salford City and has also played for Leicester City, Northampton Town, MK Dons and Barnet.

Watson will wear the No. 44 shirt.

Speaking after signing, Watson said: “I’m delighted to be back and help the lads finish the season strong. I can’t wait to be back at Prenton Park and hear the Super White Army get behind the team."

Tranmere manager Pete Wild said: “Ryan has been in with us for the week and really impressed us.

"We have always been a fan of Ryan and we feel he will offer us something we haven’t got. We feel he can help us get over the line.”
