As Tottenham Hotspur gear up for a pivotal Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest, many will be watching Morgan Gibbs-White closely. There was a moment during the summer when it seemed the England international would be making his way to Spurs from Forest.

Instead, he now has an opportunity to exacerbate their relegation troubles. Forest accused Spurs of making an unlawful approach for the star, amid claims that confidential information about the 26-year-old's release clause had been leaked. The transfer never came to fruition as Gibbs-White committed to a new three-year contract with his club. In August, he discussed an unseen factor influencing his decision to stay. Gibbs-White and his fiancée, Britney de Villiers, welcomed their second child, Hayes, over the summer following a stressful pregnancy.

He told talkSPORT: "Obviously in the summer, everybody's seen what was going on and whatever. But away from that, it was a really difficult period for me and my fiancée. Having my second child, there were a few complications with all of that.

"I believed in being professional, showing up every day and letting everything else take care of what it needs to do....
