Sir Kenny Dalglish is hoping Andy Robertson will sign a new contract with Liverpool amid speculation linking him with a move to Celtic. Robertson was linked with a move away from Anfield over the summer after the Reds signed left-back Milos Kerkez from AFC Bournemouth.

Tottenham were then prepared to pay a package of about £5million for Robertson in the January transfer window, but Liverpool pulled the plug on the deal after talks. The Reds made the call against proceeding with an agreement after their alternative options in the position.

The full-back's future, though, remains unresolved despite his contract expiring in June, and he has since been linked with an emotional return to Celtic, with former Reds team-mate Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain teasing a potential reunion with him at Parkhead this summer.
