Andy Robertson has explained that Liverpool have been trying to improve ahead of facing Wolverhampton Wanderers for the second time in less than a week.

The Reds suffered a 2-1 loss at the hands of Rob Edwards’ side on Tuesday evening, seeing them slip out of the Champions League places as a result.

Liverpool now clash with Wolves in the FA Cup, with a six-figure windfall heading the winner’s way, and Robertson says his team know they need to ‘play a lot better’ than they did last time out, and have been working towards that goal in training.

Speaking to BBC Sport, he said: “We know we need to play a lot better than we did the other night to get anything out of the game.

“And that’s what we’ve been working towards since Tuesday night. Hopefully, we can go and show that on Friday night.”

Defeat on Friday evening would mean Liverpool’s domestic season is largely over, with nothing left to play for but the Champions League.
