Ally McCoist still isn’t completely sold on Youssef Chermiti at Rangers.

The Portuguese striker joined the Gers in the summer from Everton and was met with dubious reviews from the Ibrox faithful.

He has managed to win many over with his heroics against Celtic and Hearts this season, with the forward netting another two in Sunday’s Old Firm draw.

Despite that, Govan icon McCoist still wants to see more from Chermiti and has revealed to talkSPORT what he needs to do to truly succeed with Rangers.

He said: “By the way, there is still a long time to go. He’s scored a couple of goals in the Old Firm, twice, and the first one yesterday was out of this world.

“But do you know something, if you play upfront for Rangers, you’ve got to score the only goal of the game at Livingston or score in a 2-1 victory away at Motherwell. That’s what you’ve got to do as well. Let’s not get carried away.”

It’s clear that the jury isn’t completely out on the summer signings, even after his stunning bicycle kick against the Hoops.
