Rangers sanctioned transfer exits for a number of fringe players this winter, with Lyall Cameron one of them.

Signed from Dundee on a pre-contract agreement in February 2025, Cameron arrived at Rangers with the potential to be a real bargain capture.

The versatile midfielder had enjoyed three excellent years in the Dundee first-team between 2022-2025, making well over 100 appearances and scoring over 30 goals.

Indeed, in his final season at Dens Park, the Scotland youth international bagged 14 goals and provided 11 assists in 41 total appearances, and so to secure his signature on a free transfer looked a highly shrewd move by Gers.

However, after making just 10 appearances in all competitions for Rangers during the first half of this season, the 23-year-old didn’t hit the ground running at Ibrox.

And so come mid-January this year, and with limited action under both Russell Martin and Danny Rohl respectively, Cameron was allowed to seek a loan move away from Glasgow.
