The Scottish Cup match between Rangers and Celtic is set to generate over £2.5 million in gate receipts.

This is the first quarter-final meeting between the fierce rivals since their 'shame game' replay in 2011.

The long-awaited clash is to take place on Sunday at the Ibrox Stadium in Govan.

Anticipation has been growing since the draw, with many speculating about the away ticket allocation for Celtic, given recent reduced attendance at derby matches.

It has been confirmed that Celtic fans will be allocated the entire Broomloan Stand, a first in eight years.

Rangers have stated that tickets will be priced at £53 for adults and £43 for juveniles.

According to Scotland's co-efficient, the gate receipts are expected to top £2.5 million.

Under the rules of the Scottish Cup, the away team is entitled to 37 per cent of this, meaning Celtic will receive over £925,000.

When paid, this will mark the most significant sum of money ever transferred between the two clubs.
