Gary Rowett has been given an immediate insight into the chaos at Leicester City with more off-field drama in just his second day in the job.

But he is leaving the appeals over the points deduction to the experts and has told his new squad that they cannot let it detract from their preparation for this weekend’s clash at Stoke.

City and the Premier League have both appealed the commission’s six-point sanction for the breach of Profit and Sustainability Rules.

The club are seeking to get the deduction wiped out, while the Premier League are hoping City are punished further for their late submission of their financial accounts.

But it’s not for Rowett to care about, and he’s making sure his players feel the same way.

“The club have talked to the players, to make sure everything is clarified with what’s happening,” Rowett said at his press conference on Thursday afternoon.
