Gary Rowett expects the Leicester City squad to meet his standards as he gets set to run the club like he’s been handed a five-year contract.

Rowett has been appointed to the hotseat at the King Power Stadium on a deal until the end of the season with the remit of keeping the club in the Championship.

But he said he’ll act like he’s at City for the long haul as he sets out his expectations of the players in order to draw the best out of them.

However, that does not necessarily mean he’ll be serving up hard truths over their position in the table. While City have majorly underperformed to find themselves in the relegation zone, Rowett says weighing them down won’t help.
