Arne Slot has seen his future at Liverpool called into question for much of the season so far.

Back in late 2025 amid a run of nine defeats in 12 across all competitions, fans wanted Slot gone.

An unbeaten run, which was littered with draws against weaker opponents, then followed.

But with Xabi Alonso still being linked and Liverpool only just ending a run of one win in seven Premier League matches, speculation around the Dutchman remains.

Jamie Carragher thinks Slot will be sacked unless they make it into the Champions League this season.

Now, Carragher has been speaking alongside Wayne Rooney on the latest episode of the Overlap Fan Debate.

The ex-Red asked Rooney for his thoughts on Slot, who suggested that the 47-year-old just doesn’t have the ‘aura’ to be Liverpool manager.
