In a game heavily possession-dominated by Swansea City, it was John Eustace’s Derby County that celebrated the spoils with a 2-0 win at Pride Park Stadium, returning the Rams to the top six of the EFL Championship table.

The Rams made a resilient turnaround following their 2-1 defeat to automatic promotion hopefuls Ipswich Town with a hard-fought but not quite full-spirited win over Swansea City. Goals from Rhian Brewster and Patrick Agyemang secured the Rams’ return to the top six as the final fourteen games quickly approach.

Derby made four changes from their 2-1 defeat to Ipswich Town as Tractor Boys loanee Sammie Szmodics made his full debut, with Callum Elder, Oscar Fraulo and Dion Sanderson returning to the starting XI.

Swansea made a solitary change, with Gustavo Nunes dropped to the bench in favour of South Korean winger Eom Ji-Sung.

The opening ten minutes remained quiet for both sides, with the closest chance falling in the eighth minute. A poor back-pass from Sanderson played current Championship top goalscorer Zan Vipotnik through on goal, but a darting Josh Vickers saw the Rams experienced shot-stopper claim the dangerous ball at the last moment.
