Aston Villa manager Unai Emery will assess "some small issues" in his squad ahead of selecting his team to face Brighton on Wednesday.

The Villa boss isn’t expecting to welcome any players back to his squad, with January recruit Alysson is yet to feature in a matchday squad, while Andres Garcia has been dealing with a hamstring injury of late.

Villa remain without midfield trio John McGinn, Youri Tielemans, and Boubacar Kamara.

McGinn is expected back in around three weeks, while Tielemans may not return until after the March international break.

Kamara, however, is sidelined for the rest of the season after suffering a serious knee injury during Villa’s FA Cup third-round win at Tottenham Hotspur last month.

Asked in his pre-match press conference about injuries, Emery kept his cards close to his chest.

"I can't speak about the injured players because I need to check with the doctor for some small issues," Emery said.

"Normally, the players who were out are out, and we have enough players to compete and prepare the game."
