Any hope of a late move for Liverpool star Curtis Jones appears to have ended, as the Reds shut the door on an exit for the homegrown midfielder. Spurs are reported to have approached the Anfield club over the switch earlier in January.

Liverpool have turned down a proposal of a loan from Inter Milan sent on Friday. The Premier League champions have no plans to allow him to leave temporarily if he does not sign a new deal on Merseyside.

Inter were exploring the possibility as they gear up for a possible move for Davide Frattesi to Nottingham Forest. Nevertheless, our sister title, the Liverpool Echo, understands that Liverpool have no intention of sanctioning any departures from Slot's squad this month.

Jones has recorded 29 appearances across all competitions this term, providing one assist. The 25-year-old has proven his versatility this term and has been tasked with moving from central midfield to step in as a right-back on occasion.
