Marcus Rashford has experienced a turbulent 12 months. This time last year, he was still featuring in the Premier League on loan at Aston Villa from Manchester United, with Ruben Amorim making it evident he had no plans to utilise the England international moving forward.

Then came a dream summer transfer. Barcelona secured Rashford on loan with an option to purchase. Should Barcelona wish to retain the striker permanently, which is widely anticipated, they will need to pay United just £26m.

While he made a strong impression during his initial months at the club, Rashford has recently found himself out of the starting line-up, raising questions about his long-term prospects if this trend persists.

Over the past three matches, Rashford has been relegated to the substitutes' bench rather than starting. In the two Champions League fixtures against Slavia Prague and Copenhagen, he entered the fray at the 60-minute and 70-minute marks respectively, finding the net against the latter in the final league phase encounter.
