We look to close the gap to second-place Chelsea with Saturday’s trip to Stamford Bridge in the Barclays Women’s Super League.

The Blues are currently four points ahead of us while we sit third in the division, ahead of fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur on goal difference.

Sonia Bompastor’s side are also hoping to close the gap on Manchester City, who are six points clear at the top.

After beginning the 2025/26 WSL campaign with six wins from their opening seven matches, Chelsea have now won just two out of the last five. Following their 1-1 draw with us at Emirates Stadium, they drew 1-1 at Liverpool before suffering a surprise 1-0 defeat at home to Everton.

They’ve managed to get back to winning ways since then though, beating Brighton & Hove Albion 3-0 and West Ham United 5-0.

Chelsea are going strong in the cup competitions, knocking Crystal Palace out of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup and beating Liverpool and Manchester City in the Subway Women’s League Cup.

In Europe, they finished third in the UEFA Women’s Champions League league phase with four wins and two draws.
