Newcastle United did not pursue initial interest in Rayan this week with the teenage forward set to join AFC Bournemouth this week.

Head coach Eddie Howe told me in his Press conference on Tuesday there was "no truth" in suggestions that talks to sign the Vasco da Gama star were in progress. And Howe has been transparent in the last seven days with Rayan heading to the South Coast just days after the Toon boss insisted the January window will only be used to sign up a defender, ruling out attacking options.
