Southampton attacker Léo Scienza has told the Austrian media he’s grateful for comments made by Coventry City manager Frank Lampard.

The Chelsea legend praised the Brazilian in his post-match press conference following Coventry City’s 1-1 draw with Southampton last month.

Speaking to Transfermarkt.at, Scienza was asked about what Lampard has said, and how he felt about the praise.

The 27-year-old said he was pleased that somebody of Lampard’s standing in the game notice his ability.

Scienza then said the Coventry City manager explained he’ll be watching his progress.

“I was very surprised when I saw the interview. During the game we argued a bit then we met in the dressing room corridor. He told me that he didn’t know me, but I was very good and he would continue to watch me.

“Of course, it makes me happy when such a legend says that. After his special playing career, he is also doing a great job as a coach. A day later, friends sent me his interview. I am very grateful to him for the words,” said the Southampton player.
