Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks set to miss out on becoming Manchester United's new interim manager – and it's not the first time he's been left disappointed by the Red Devils. Solskjaer was famously in charge of the Red Devils for three years from 2018 until 2021 before being relieved of his duties in a five-minute meeting. 

It happened in November 2021 when a dismal start to the 2021/22 season culminated in a humiliating 4-1 defeat at Watford. The loss sealed Solskjaer's fate, with the Norwegian sensing his impending dismissal even at the half-time break when United trailed 2-0.

However, the official sacking didn't occur until the following morning, when he was summoned to meet then-executive vice chairman Ed Woodward. The encounter between the club legend and Woodward lasted just five minutes before he was relieved of his duties.
