West Bromwich Albion are poised to confirm the appointment of former Manchester United coach Eric Ramsay as their next boss.

Ramsay is to succeed Ryan Mason who was sacked earlier this month after seven months in charge and the Baggies 18th in the Championship.

The club hierarchy pulled the trigger on axing their young manager following a 10th consecutive defeat on the road and they are currently seven points above the relegation zone.

Final details are being negotiated with Minnesota United, Ramsay's current club, who he has been in charge of since February 2024.

Ramsay is regarded as another promising young managerial prospect having guided Minnesota United to back-to-back- Conference play-off semi-finals.

The 34-year-old was also among the contenders to succeed Liam Rosenior at Strasbourg before Gary O'Neil got the job.
