Tottenham Hotspur have settled on their top managerial target to replace Thomas Frank at the end of the season.

Reports indicate that Frank is not in any immediate danger of being sacked, with the Spurs hierarchy ready to assess the Dane’s work at the end of the campaign.

However, that does not mean that the Lilywhites are not making contingency plans. Several managers have been mooted as potential Frank replacements over recent weeks.

It emerged on Tuesday that Marseille’s Roberto De Zerbi is also on Tottenham’s wishlist, but the Italian is also admired by Man United.

TEAMtalk claim that Spurs have now compiled a managerial shortlist for a potential summer change, and De Zerbi’s name is right at the top of it.

The 46-year-old has ‘huge admirers’ within the Tottenham hierarchy, and his progressive style of play, emphasising possession and high pressing, is said to align with the club’s vision for their future.

It is suggested that De Zerbi would be open to leaving Marseille at the end of the season, as he believes he may have taken the Ligue 1 side as far as he can.
