Rangers suffered yet more European misery on Thursday night as they were beaten 2-0 by Roma at Ibrox.

The Gers were always likely to face an uphill task against the Italian giants, but any hopes of an upset were quickly put to bed through first-half goals from Matias Soule and Lorenzo Pellegrini.

Rangers had the ingredients for another memorable night at Ibrox prior to kick-off, but in reality, they were completely outclassed by a far superior opponent.

They now sit bottom of the entire Europa League after their opening four league phase matches, and Thursday’s display should have told Danny Rohl everything that he needs to know about this star.

Djeidi Gassama turned in a bright display for Rangers, but in truth, quality performances were few and far between for the hosts on the night.

Rohl’s men failed to get a foothold in the game from the very beginning, and they simply couldn’t live with the quality offered by the Italian capital club.
