Rangers fans made their feelings clear on Thursday by unfurling banners that criticised Kevin Thelwell and Patrick Stewart.

Roma beat Rangers 2-0 at Ibrox on 6 November, with Matias Soule and Lorenzo Pellegrini’s first-half goals proving too much for the Gers.

It is a loss that plunges Danny Rohl‘s side back into misery, after Sunday’s disappointing loss to Celtic in the Premier Sports Cup semi-final.

But much of the outrage has not been directed at the German, who arrived just weeks ago after the departure of Russell Martin.

Thelwell and Stewart have been slammed by Rangers fans, with many laying the blame directly at the feet of the club’s sporting director and CEO.

Thelwell’s decision to hire his son, Robbie, as Rangers’ head of recruitment, is just one of the many grievances fans have against the sporting director.

The former Everton man was involved in the decision to hire Martin, and did not act sooner when it was clear that the Englishman’s appointment had failed after spending millions upon millions.
