Emmanuel Fernandez may be on his way out of Rangers in the January transfer window.

The 23-year-old was a major acquisition for the Gers in the summer, when he completed a £3.5million move to Ibrox from English League One side Peterborough United.

Fernandez’s move to Rangers came as something of a surprise during the recent transfer window, and things have simply not gone to plan for him at all during the early stages of his time in Govan.

Danny Rohl’s arrival has shaken up the squad somewhat of late, but that has done little to improve the centre-back’s current situation.

Fernandez had a nightmare for Rangers in their 1-1 draw with St Mirren in the Premiership back in August, and that quickly saw him fall out of favour with Russell Martin.

The defender failed to make another competitive appearance under the 39-year-old, and his situation has hardly improved at all since his former boss was given the boot.

The 23-year-old had to wait another two whole months for his next competitive action, which came in the form of a stoppage-time substitute appearance during the recent win over Hibernian.
