Liverpool striker Alexander Isak has been selected for Sweden's forthcoming internationals despite missing the Reds' last two wins. Former Chelsea and West Ham United head coach Graham Potter made the bold decision to include the talisman despite suffering a groin injury during the first half of the 5-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt, last month.

The 26-year-old will join up for the Englishman's first squad in the international hotsteat as they continue their World Cup qualification campaign. Sweden take on Switzerland before concluding their group stage at home to Slovenia, in what has been a dismal pursuit for the nation as they sit bottom of the table with just one point.

Their 1-0 defeat to Kosovo spelt the end of Jon Dahl Tomasson's time in the post last month. However, Liverpool utilised the international break to help accelerate the bid for Isak's fitness after a heavily-impacted pre-season schedule.

However, after back-to-back outings against Manchester United and Frankfurt, Isak was sidelined with a fresh issue.
