A woman has been charged over an incident that saw former Bournemouth defender Jordan Chiedozie lose his leg.

Anna Bogusiewicz of Wraysbury, Berkshire, is due to appear at Southampton Crown Court on December 1.

She has been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving and drink-driving.

The 45-year-old denied drink driving, while no plea was entered for dangerous driving.

Chiedozie was about to change a car tyre on the hard shoulder on February 1 when the injury occurred.

The 31-year-old was returning home from training with Southern League club Bashley when he pulled over on the M27 to inspect his car.

Chiedozie was playing on the south coast, where he’s spent most of his career.

Local news outlet the Southern Daily Echo report that he was put into an induced coma after the crash and has since detailed his recovery as an amputee on social media.
