Bournemouth have a ‘phenomenon’ on their hands in striker Eli Junior Kroupi. That’s according to his former teammate Formose Mendy.

The Watford man has been speaking to Top Mercato and took time out to praise his former teammate.

Kroupi joined Bournemouth in a €13m deal from FC Lorient at the end of the January transfer but was left with the French side until the summer.

He then joined the Cherries permanently and hasn’t looked back since. While Andoni Iraola has only handed him a back up role so far, he’s shone in the chances given to him.

He’s already bagged four goals in six games in the Premier League this season, despite only starting two games in the nine squads he’s been included in. His first came again Leeds, before a double against Crystal Palace and then another in the win over Nottingham Forest.

He also bagged two for France’s U21 side against Estonia during the international break to add to that impressive tally.

The feeling is that Bournemouth have a real gem on their hands. And Mendy is happy to add o that, even when his former teammate is labelled as a...
