Tottenham’s dreams of going all the way in the Carabao Cup ended abruptly after they crashed out of the competition at the hands of Newcastle United away from home. The Lilywhites were thoroughly outperformed and could not find a way to secure a result at St. James’ Park. The loss against the Magpies also ended the North London club’s hopes of competing on all fronts this season.
