Rotherham United welcome Swindon Town to the New York Stadium for the first round proper of the FA Cup on Saturday when Martin Woods has the whistle.

Martin began refereeing at the age of 14 starting in the Bolton Boys Federation before moving on to the Lancashire Amateur League. He was promoted to the EFL for the start of the 2022-23 season after officiating in the National League.

His only other time in charge of a Millers game was in December last year when Lincoln City were the visitors to Rotherham. Sam Nombe put the Millers in front on 21 minutes with the Imps equalising minutes into the second half before Sean Raggett gave the hosts all 3 points on the 77th minute. There were 7 yellow cards that day Joe Rafferty, Zak Jules and Hakeem Odoffin getting them for Rotherham.

Of the 11 games he has been in the middle for this season Martin has shown 42 yellow cards and 1 red.

Running the lines on Saturday we have Matthew Parry and Zharir Mustafa while the Fourth Official will be James Tewson.
