Ramsdale joined Newcastle from Southampton on a season-long loan move but hasn't yet played a minute in the Premier League or Champions League, with his only outings coming in the Carabao Cup.

But the former Arsenal goalkeeper showed his class in the win over Tottenham on Wednesday night, making a string of important and impressive saves on the way to keeping an excellent clean sheet. His best save came in the second half when he denied Pape Sarr.

And while Howe knows Ramsdale will of course want to play more football, he says the 27-year-old's attitude has been exemplary since his arrival on Tyneside.
