Our under-21s will be aiming to get back to winning ways as we turn our focus to the Vertu Trophy, travelling to face Exeter City on Tuesday, October 28, with kick-off at 7pm (UK time) at St James Park.

Having made a positive start to the competition, our young Gunners will be hoping to make it two wins from two after an impressive comeback victory over Newport County in the opening group game. Despite conceding inside the first minute, Andre Harriman-Annous’s equaliser and a late winner from Charles Sagoe Jr secured all three points in south Wales.


The Opposition

The Grecians currently sit 18th in League One, having collected 16 points from five wins, one draw and eight defeats so far this season. Despite a challenging start, Gary Caldwell’s side will enter this fixture with renewed confidence after a memorable 2-0 victory over local rivals Plymouth Argyle in the Devon Derby last Thursday, thanks to goals from Reece Cole and Akeel Higgins.

In the Vertu Motors Trophy, however, Exeter currently find themselves bottom of Group A following a narrow 1-0 defeat to Cardiff City in their opening match.
