Leicester City’s struggles continued as they suffered a confidence-sapping defeat at high-flying Millwall.

Femi Azeez’s finish on the stroke of half-time was enough to separate the teams, with Marti Cifuentes’ side now on a run of just one win in eight.

Even a second-half penalty save from Jakub Stolarczyk could not spark a comeback with City showing very little in response to going behind.

It won’t help the mood in an already disgruntled fanbase, with the travelling contingent at The Den booing their team when they came over to the away end after the full-time whistle.

Cifuentes reversed most of his midweek changes, bringing Ricardo Pereira, Aaron Ramsey and Jeremy Monga back into the side, but there was also a surprise swap at centre-half, with Caleb Okoli replacing the dropped Wout Faes.

Whether inspired by those changes or as part of a response to Tuesday’s disappointment, City started very well, putting together some flowing moves to create chances.
