Newcastle United transfer chiefs will be rubbing their hands together after both Sandro Tonali and Nick Woltemade's value skyrocketed in recent weeks.

The pair have been among the bright sparks for Eddie Howe's side so far this season despite the Magpies' slow start in the Premier League.

Tonali has been a constant fixture in Howe's strongest starting XI since returning from his ban for betting offences last season. The Italian has also reportedly agreed to 'a secret contract extension' that will keep him with the Toon until the summer of 2029, though contract talks with new sporting director Ross Wilson are still set to take place.

The 25-year-old is one of the best midfielders in the division and is happy at Newcastle, but that hasn't stopped reports linking him with a sensational return to Italy. His former club, AC Milan, and fellow Italian giants Juventus have both been linked with a transfer swoop for the player, who cost Newcastle £55m.
