The Premier League season is only eight games old but Friday night’s Elland Road clash between Leeds and West Ham already has the feel of crunch match-up between two teams likel to be involved in the relegation scrap.

The Whites will be targeting safety following their promotion from the Championship last season and Daniel Farke’s men have the chance to pull seven points clear of West Ham with victory on home turf.

The Hammers’ expectations were far higher than just avoiding relegation at the start of the season, but Monday night’s shambolic performance in a 2-0 defeat at home to Brentford has marked the Irons down as being in serious trouble.

Nuno Espirito Santo has the task of turning his team’s fortunes around just four days later with the game kicking off at 20:00 BST.
