NUNO ESPIRITO SANTO has scotched claims that he is snubbing striker Callum Wilson because playing him would cost West Ham United money.

Wilson joined the Hammers as a free agent on a one-year contract over the summer after leaving Newcastle United, where he turned down the option of a new deal on vastly reduced terms.

But Nuno has yet to use the former England international in his three matches in charge so far, leaving the 33-year-old on the bench despite West Ham chasing a goal in their 2-0 defeat at home to Brentford on Monday.
