St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson will be in the dugout when his side face Dundee United at Tannadice on Saturday, with the punishment for his red card last weekend yet to take effect.

Robinson was sent off by referee Lloyd Wilson towards the end of a match where St Mirren’s Jayden Richardson was dismissed and Alex Gogic had a goal disallowed after a lengthy VAR check. Aberdeen went on to win against ten men with a goal from Marko Lazetic in injury time.

The St Mirren boss is likely to face a touchline ban but red cards shown to managers and coaching staff don’t go through the same ‘fast track’ process that’s used in the players’ disciplinary system.

Instead, there’s on automatic ban and every decision has to be reviewed by the Scottish FA’s compliance officer.

While Robinson is likely to receive a one-match suspension, that decision won’t be taken until after this weekend’s Premiership clash, with the manager most likely to miss the midweek clash with table-topping Hearts.

“I gave the referee my opinion on his performance,” Robinson said after Saturday’s game. “I didn’t use any foul language. But you obviously can’t offer an opinion anymore.
