Anthony Gordon admits he will not get drunk on Newcastle United's Champions League success - insisting it won't mean anything if the Magpies don't beat Fulham at the weekend.

The flying England forward produced a sparkling man of the match display against Benfica and was singled out for praise by Jose Mourinho at the final whistle at St James' Park after an assist and a goal.

Gordon is very much one of the in-form English players in Europe right now, but warned: "It's hard to get carried away because the games are coming thick and fast.

"I've got to approach every game the same. I've got to go and recover. This doesn't mean anything now. I have to replicate that performance against Fulham."
