West Ham United midfielder Edson Alvarez has pushed back against the Turkish media and their “unnecessary talk” about his loan club Fenerbahçe.

Fener Ajans cover comments from the midfielder today in which he admits he’s getting accustomed to being in the Turkish spotlight.

Alvarez joined Fenerbahce on loan from West Ham in the summer. It had been made clear that he was no longer a part of Graham Potter’s plans at the time.

His arrival at the club was warmly welcomed but he’s yet to establish himself in the side, with just four appearances and 243 minutes to date. That’s largely been down to a lack of fitness and a thigh injury.

In the meantime, Fenerbahce have endured a difficult start to the season as they’ve failed to keep up with Galatasaray at the top of the Super Lig table.

Their rivals currently sit on 25 points in first place whole Fenerbahce sit six points behind them in third. They’re also a point behind Trabzonspor in second place.
