The next Rangers manager betting odds have shifted dramatically after a deal for Kevin Muscat to become the new Ibrox boss collapsed.

The Shanghai Port manager had been expected to join Rangers as manager after positive discussions leading to an agreement in principle.

However, talks have now crumbled at the eleventh hour with Muscat no longer poised to become Russell Martin's successor. He will instead remain at the Chinese Super League club.

It's thought the twist came after further talks between Muscat and the Ibrox hierarchy, with discussions at an advanced stage, but no deal reached.

Immediately following the breaking news, odds have shifted massively in the next Rangers manager market with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Sean Dyche, Danny Rohl and Steven Gerrard back amongst the frontrunners on BetVictor.

Dyche was not on a shortlist drawn up by Rangers officials, while Gerrard and Rohl pulled out of consideration after talks with the club.
