Manchester United legend Wes Brown once confessed that when he was shown a red card at Anfield, it was the best moment of his career.

Brown, who joined United as a young lad, played a total of 362 matches in all competitions for the club, bagging five Premier League titles, two FA Cups, two League Cups and two Champions League trophies.

Given Brown's strong ties to United, clashes with Liverpool at Anfield were often heated affairs. During a Premier League match in 2005, Brown was dismissed for a second bookable offence – taking down Liverpool's left-back John Arne Riise.

And years down the line, he revealed: "Myself, Wayne [Rooney], John O'Shea, and Fletch [Darren Fletcher] were the Fantastic Four. We were best mates but I got on with every one of my teammates and I know that is weird but it's true.

"One player who did my head in was [John Arne] Riise. I got sent off against Liverpool at Anfield for fouling him.
