Kobbie Mainoo has endured a tough start to the Premier League season under the stewardship of Ruben Amorim at Manchester United, but he remains resolute in his quest for a regular spot in the team.

The young midfielder is eyeing his first league start this Sunday as United prepare to take on Liverpool at Anfield. Despite not featuring in the first two matches of the season, Mainoo has made appearances in all five league games so far, coming off the bench each time.

Despite his limited game time, Mainoo sought a loan move during the summer transfer window, which was turned down.

United are reportedly showing interest in Crystal Palace's maestro Adam Wharton as they look ahead to the January transfer window.

The 21-year-old made the switch from Blackburn to Palace in a deal worth around £18million plus add-ons back in January 2024 and quickly established himself as a key figure under manager Oliver Glasner.
