Ange Postecoglou has been sacked by Nottingham Forest just minutes after their 3-0 thrashing by Chelsea.

Less than 20 minutes after the full-time whistle blew at the City Ground following another crushing loss in the Premier League, Postecoglou was fired by owner Evangelos Marinakis. The Australian manager had just set a rotten record by becoming the first manager in the club's history to win none of his first eight games.

And his dismissal - 39 days after his appointment on September 9 - means Postecoglou's stint at Forest is the shortest managerial reign in Premier League history. Forest collected just one point from the former Tottenham manager's five Premier League matches in charge, leaving the side one point above the relegation zone in 17th.

A statement from Forest, read: "Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that after a series of disappointing results and performances, Ange Postecoglou has been relieved of his duties as head coach with immediate effect. The club will make no further comment at this time."

Marinakis left his seat in the stands for long periods during the defeat, which saw Chelsea score three goals in the second-half after Forest wasted several opportunities in the first half....
