Ruben Amorim guided his side to a much needed victory in front of home support last weekend as Sunderland were swept aside by two goals to nil at Old Trafford.
The win helped ease the mounting pressure on Amorim’s shoulders after a turbulent start to the season has left more questions than answers over his suitability for the role long term.
A host of names have been linked with replacing the United head coach should INEOS pull the trigger in the coming weeks, including mangers of current Premier League clubs.
As relayed by MSN news, United legend Paul Scholes has had his say on who he believes Amorim’s successor should be if indeed his is to be relieved of his duties.
Speaking on The Overlap Fan Debate, Scholes named Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe as the ideal man to take the reigns at Old Trafford after doing a fine job on Tyneside.
