Alan Shearer has lauded a Tottenham Hotspur star for showing a great attitude and delivering the kind of response that Thomas Frank would have wanted.

The injuries to Randal Kolo Muani and Dominic Solanke have meant that Richarlison has perhaps played significantly more minutes than Tottenham may have wanted, given his fitness record over the last two years.

On Saturday, Thomas Frank chose to rest the Brazilian and handed Mathys Tel his second start of the Premier League season.

Thomas Frank previously admitted that Tel’s best position is on the left, but the Frenchman led the line again for the Lilywhites at Elland Road, and he grabbed the opportunity with both hands, delivering a tireless display and scoring the game’s opening goal.

Tel was left out of Tottenham’s Champions League squad by Frank, which was a decision that shocked many, given that he became the Dane’s first signing at Spurs on the back of his loan spell at N17 last season.

Rather than sulking or feeling sorry for himself, the Frenchman has done his talking on the pitch, and Shearer believes that it is the perfect response to give to the Tottenham Hotspur boss.
