Derby County Women’s opponents for the Adobe Women’s FA Cup First Round have been confirmed.


The draw took place on Monday 6th October, following the conclusion Third Round Qualifying matches in the competition a day earlier.

As a club in Tier 3, Derby will enter the competition at the First Round stage.

The Ewes have been handed an away tie against Coventry Sphinx Ladies, which is set to take place on Sunday 26th October (2pm kick-off).

Adobe Women’s FA Cup Format

The First Round draw was split into three groups with a Northern (Group 1), Midlands (Group 2) and Southern (Group 3). Derby were amongst the Midlands draw, which included 36 teams.

Group 1 of the draw sees 28 clubs competing across 14 ties, while Group 2 sees 36 clubs and 18 ties – including the Ewes’ match-up with Coventry Sphinx – and Group 3 is made up of 48 clubs competing in 24 ties.

After a preliminary round and three qualifying rounds that have already been played, there will be seven rounds to follow before the Final set to take place in May.
