Arsenal have suffered a fresh blow as Martin Odegaard has been withdrawn from the Norway national team due to an injury sustained against West Ham United last weekend.

The former Real Madrid man has had a stop-start season thus far owing to recurring injury problems. He initially picked up a shoulder issue against Leeds United in the second Premier League game; thankfully, that issue wasn’t anything serious, and he managed to return quickly.

He picked up another shoulder problem vs Nottingham Forest last month, as a consequence of that, the 26-year-old was sidelined for a couple of weeks.

However, the midfielder picked up a fresh injury in the last game against West Ham and was taken off before the interval. As a result, he has been withdrawn from the Norway national team for this month’s international fixtures.

Arsenal have stated that Odegaard has suffered a medial collateral ligament injury and is set to be assessed and treated by the club’s medical team at Sobha Realty Training Centre over the coming weeks.
