Andrew Kitchen was right not to censure Zian Flemming for his part in the incident that saw Emi Buendia forced off the pitch towards the end of Aston Villa's win over Burnley.

That's the view of former Premier League referee Dermot Gallagher who went on to praise Kitchen who he claims has shown 'great ability' since being promoted to the Premier League in the last few months.

Buendia came off the bench in the second half at Villa Park and was once again pulling the strings for Unai Emery's side.

However, after just 22 minutes he was caught by the Flemming as the Clarets' player threw out his arm to stop Buendia from nicking the ball.

As a result his elbow caught the in-form Argentine in the side of the face resulting in five minutes of treatment and the arrival of a concussion substitute.

The incident was replayed on Sky Sports' Ref Watch and Gallagher exonerated Flemming.
